Other than Australian passport holders and eligible New Zealand passport holders, to travel to Australia you will be required to obtain an entry visa.
Tourist visas
Tourist visas are issued for the purpose of tourism. You may apply for stays of up to 3 months, up to 6 months or up to 12 months. For applicants from authorised countries, this application may be completed online. Visas issued to online applicants will not receive a visa stamp in their passport, the visa will be electronically tagged to the passport.
Applications for tourism for people not eligible to apply electronically may make a manual application.
Business visas
This visa allows the holder to travel to Australia for short term business purposes and stay for up to 3 months on each visit within the validity of the visa. You may attend business related meetings, seminars, conventions, conferences, or networking, informal studies and exploratory development with a view to starting a business in Australia.
The eligibility criteria is the same as for tourist i.e. electronic/manual applications, applicants who are eligible to make electronic applications may apply for a visa for the full life of their passport
Working holiday Visas
The Working Holiday and Work and Holiday programs encourage cultural exchange and closer ties between arrangement countries by allowing young people to have an extended holiday supplemented by short-term employment.
On this visa you are eligible to enter Australia within 12 months of the issue date, remain in the country for up 12 months, work for up to 6 months for an employer, study for a maximum of 4 months.
To be eligible to apply for a 2nd working holiday you must complete 3 months specified work in regional Australia. Work and holiday applicants are not eligible to apply for a 2nd visa.
Student visas
To study in Australia for more than 3 months, you will require an Australian student visa. You are not permitted to travel to Australia if you intend to study for longer than 3 months without the appropriate student visa that will allow you to study and work up to 20 hours per week whilst you are in Australia. To apply you must be fully enrolled in an Australian institution and have been issued with a confirmation of enrolment (COE) number. Family members can normally be included in this type of application
Migration
There are a number of options when looking into migration, the general skilled visa is for people who are aged between 18 - 44 with good English language ability, and recent work skills. Your skills will have to be verified.
