Australian 12 Month Tourist Visa

An Australian 12 month visa is valid on your passport for 12 months, and will allow it’s holder to stay in Australia continuously for this period.

This visa does not permit the holder to undertake any paid work whilst in Australia, some voluntary work may be acceptable. If any work is undertaken, it must not be in return for wages. You are allowed to receive meals, accommodation and/or reimbursement of out-of-pocket living expenses.

The holder is permited to study for up to three months on this visa.

The cost of an Australian 12 month tourist visa is $250.00 USD.

This visa is issued for the purpose of holiday, tourism or to visit friends or family only. Applicants are not permitted to use this visa for the purpose of business.

If you wish to travel to Australia for between six and twelve months for the purpose of tourism, then you will require an Australian 12 month tourist visa. Once issued to your passport your visa will be valid for twelve months and you have up to twelve months to enter Australia.

The Australian twelve months tourist visa allows the holder to stay in Australia for up to twelve months from the day you first enter the country. This visa also permits multiple entry during the twelve months from the date you first enter Australia. This allows you to leave Australia as often as you like within the 12 month period and return again.

Employment is prohibited during your visit to Australia when using this visa. You might be requested to evidence that you have sufficient funds to support you during your stay in Australia (around $7,498 USD).

The maximum period of study you can undertake on this visa is three months. If you intend to study for longer than four weeks you may also be required to undergo a chest x-ray examination.
