6 Month Tourist Visa - How It Works?
The Australian 6 month tourist visa is designed for people to travelling for tourism, holiday or to visit friends or family.
On this type of visa studying or training is permitted for up to 3 months, however you may not undertake any paid work. Some voluntary work is seen as acceptable as long your main purpose in visiting Australia is tourism, and any voluntary work remains incidental to this.
Everyone who travels to Australia requires a visa. Passport details must match those entered on your application.
The 6 month tourist visa is available to all passport holders who are:
- Outside Australia and want to apply for a visa to visit Australia.
- Within Australia and want to extend your stay as a visitor.
Once granted the visa will be electronically tagged to your passport. You will also recieve confirmation of your visa which outlines all terms and conditions of your visa.
This is usually sent to your E-Mail address, and we advise you to take a printed out copy of this. However, if you would rather receive your confirmation by post, just let us know.
