Australian Working Holiday Visa
The Australian working holiday visa scheme is for people who have turned 18 but not turned 31, at the time of their application.
Australia has agreements in place to allow eligible passport holders to work and travel around Australia for an initial period of 12 months.
An Australian working holiday visa allows you to work to subsidise your travel.
Your visa will permit you to work for the full 12 months of your stay, however you are only permitted to work for an individual employer for up to 6 months.

You are also permitted to study or train for up to 4 months during your 12 month Australian working holiday. If you intend to study for more than 4 months during your stay you will need to view the student visa section.
You will also have the opportunity to extend your Australian working holiday visas for up to another 12 months by completing 3 months (88 days) specified work during your first 12 months. For more details please see our second working holiday visa page.
You are not permitted to apply for this visa if you have dependent children. All applications for an Australian working holiday visa must be made and completed prior to you attempting to enter Australia.
